Part I: Workout At Home
A lot of people start the year out with fitness goals. During the first two weeks of January the gym is crowded, but by the end of the month it’s back to the regular gym goers. We get overly ambitious which leads to a quick burn out. My solution is the lazy way to stay fit. Today I’m going to share my first lazy fit tip with you.
Working out at home is an affordable and easy option if you don’t have a gym membership, or for those days you’re too lazy to go to the gym. If I want quick results a Jillian Michaels DVD does the trick. You don’t need fancy equipment to get a good work out in. Here are some of the tools for my at home workouts.
- Yoga Matt (purchased from Target)
- Weights (Target,Amazon,)
- DVDs (Target, Amazon,online)
- Ab Wheel (Dicks Sporting Goods)
There are also great FREE online workouts like Tiffany Roethe workouts and Blogilates. I like to do a variety of workouts so that I don’t get bored. You can also sneak in crunches during commercial breaks and jumping jacks in between household chores.
We all realize on some level that for most of us being overly ambitious is what prevents us from reaching our exercise goals so the solution is (drumroll) be lazy!
Here is a 17 minute video featuring psychologist BJ Fogg explaining the “tiny habit” approach to motivating yourself.
Until my next post, get your lazy on people!
